LaSalle Network seeks an Ocean Export Operations Agent for a prominent air freight forwarding client. This role involves managing end-to-end export operations, ensuring seamless coordination with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
Ocean Export Operations Agent Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage ocean export shipments from origin to destination, including booking cargo, preparing documentation, and arranging transportation
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
- Prepare and review export documentation such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, invoices, and packing lists
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of shipments and resolve any issues that arise during transit
- Monitor shipment status and provide updates to clients and internal teams, addressing inquiries and ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to support business objectives and address client needs
- Maintain accurate records and files for all export transactions, ensuring proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the export operations workflow
Ocean Export Operations Agent Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in ocean export operations, freight forwarding, or logistics
- Strong knowledge of ocean freight procedures, documentation, and international trade regulations
- Familiarity with industry-specific software, such as Cargowise or other Transportation Management Systems (TMS), is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients, carriers, and internal teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
- Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues proactively and efficiently
