What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Controller (Finance) position at LaSalle Network?
The Project Controller (Finance) will be responsible for working with Project Management and the various functional teams to manage all the financial aspects of LaSalle Network's client's manufacturing automation projects. Additionally, the role will have responsibility for various accounting month end related tasks as well as analysis and presentation related to project revenue and profitability. The role will report directly to the Head of Finance.
Project Controller (Finance) Responsibilities:
- Manage aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, project and service labor hours reporting, project budgeting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Assist in the production of periodic financial reports; along with the Head of Finance ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
- Produce project budgets and forecasts; report significant differences to management.
- Assist the team to achieve forecast objectives by monitoring expenditures; analyzing variances; recommending corrective actions.
- Preparation of the bi-weekly management financial review.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Provide outside tax accountants with necessary tax schedules annually.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Project Controller (Finance) Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and overseas counterparts.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and some exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience using cost centers and absorption accounting concepts.
- Experience with percentage of completion revenue recognition.
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Experience working in an OEM/Manufacturing/machine & automation environment
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration, accounting, or finance
- 5 years of experience in accounting/finance
Project Controller (Finance) Benefits:
- Compensation Range: $85,000 - $115,000
