Job Title: Senior Institutional Research Analysts
Job Location: Lasell University, 1844 Commonwealth Ave., Newton, MA 02466
Telecommuting: Telecommuting is available.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Institutional Research Analyst will be responsible for performing the following job duties:
- Develop and analyze surveys for assessment purposes;
- Manage the development of potential surveys that departments would like to be administered across the institution;
- Collect and review data from other areas of the institution to be used in submission of external surveys, including surveys for the federal government, accreditation, college guidebooks, and other publications;
- Present results of internal surveys to institutional and departmental leadership using high quality data visualizations and detailed written summaries;
- Utilize advanced statistical methodologies to complete analysis of institutional needs, such as group comparisons, factor/cluster analysis, and logistic/linear regressions;
- Support the Office of Institutional Research with ad hoc data analysis requests;
- Maintain institutional databases and data warehousing used in reporting as well as data analytics;
- Develop and maintain complex institutional dashboards;
- Utilize national benchmarking tools such as the IPEDS Data Center to create reports comparing Lasell to its competitors on a wide range of educational variables;
- Develop datasets as required for annual institutional program reviews;
- Assist in the maintenance of predictive modeling, related to enrollment, retention, and revenues;
- Represent Institutional Research on numerous leadership committees;
- Oversee Institutional Research student intern(s);
- Work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple short-term and long-term projects to meet deadlines; and
- Maintain compliance for reporting requirements, including IPEDS, NSLC, reports related to accreditation, and others as required.
Qualifications
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Employer requires a master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, psychology, education, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a research analyst, data scientist, or similar occupation working in an Institutional Research department. In addition, the Employer requires:
- Demonstrated ability developing complex surveys for educational institutions analyzing the student and employee experience gained through two (2) years of work experience;
- Demonstrated ability presenting on complex data sets gained through two (2) years of work experience;
- Demonstrated ability utilizing Excel, R, or SPSS for statistical modeling and large dataset analysis gained through two (2) years of work experience;
- Demonstrated ability translating complex data sets into written summaries gained through two (2) years of work experience;
- Demonstrated ability utilizing Starfish Analytics or other similar student alert system gained through two (2) years of work experience; and
- Demonstrated ability reporting student-level data to IPEDS surveys and utilizing variables to perform national student and/or employee benchmarking analyses gained through two (2) years of work experience.
