Lasko Products, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing portable fans and heaters for over 100 years, is hiring a Controller for our West Chester, PA headquarters.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller position performs a variety of project-oriented tasks to support the accounting and financial needs of Lasko. This position is responsible for managing the month-end close process, maintaining accurate and complete financials, and serving as the primary interface with auditors and tax advisors, and providing leadership and skills development to direct reports. This role will communicate with others in a wide range of positions internal and external to the organization to gather and interpret information to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Hands-on in the day-to-day accounting activities while managing a 3-4 person accounting team within the Controllership organization.
- Drive the monthly financial close process to adhere to the close schedule and lender reporting requirements including the review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls that monitor and ensure accuracy of assets, liabilities, and financial reporting of the company.
- Manage and ensure timely delivery of external statutory audits and tax compliance.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Ensuring the preparation of high integrity financial statements and KPIs by orienting the accounting team towards asking questions and understanding the business
- Lead implementation of new consolidations tool and other accounting projects as assigned
Experience/ Qualifications:
- 10 years of corporate accounting experience with consistent career progression
- Consumer Products manufacturing preferred. Track record of working within a private equity backed business would be a plus.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of US GAPP
- Ability to lead and develop a team with experience of varying levels
- An outgoing personal style. Comfortable extending oneself to others at all levels, both internally and externally
- Experience collaborating with external auditors and stakeholders
- Experience with preparation of multi-entity consolidated financial statements is required
- Unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character with a high energy level, a strong work ethic, and a passion for his/her work
- Advanced skills in Excel and Power Point and proficiency with ERPs/business intelligence tools
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.

Salary : $120,000 - $153,000
