What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver - Rescue Transport position at Last Chance Animal Rescue?
Last Chance Animal Rescue, since its inception, has rescued, healed and adopted out more than 200,000 animals. We have accomplished this by working with high kill shelters; pulling animals at risk of euthanasia. Additionally, we assist in hoarding situations, abuse and neglect cases, emergency response efforts and with community members in need. We provide medication, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and assess each rescue animal for placement into their new adoptive homes.
An important aspect of the work that we do is transporting these animals from our rescue to partner locations for adoption. We transport animals from Waldorf to locations in Maryland, Virginia and D.C. and are seeking a safe, reliable and capable driver for daily transport routes to various adoption destinations.
If you want to help make a difference in the lives of animals this job is for you!
Job duties include driving a cargo van, with precious lives on board, from Waldorf to assigned adoption centers, setting up rescue animals at designated enclosures and, communicating with location managers, as well as, rescue managers. The driver will have to provide basic care for and be comfortable handling animals; primarily cats/kittens, sometimes rabbits and guinea pigs, etc.
