What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate position at Lateral Link?
New litigation associate opportunity with a real estate boutique (Manhattan)
We are working with two of the named partners of a boutique firm in Manhattan. They are looking to add a mid- to senior-level associate with significant litigation experience.
A few more details about the firm and practice:
- They are currently 8 attorneys.
- The partners have varied backgrounds, including stints as associates in multiple AmLaw 100 firms and as state/local prosecutors.
- The work is largely, but not exclusively, real estate related; it’s interesting and high-level work. They work on federal and NY state matters and occasionally in other state courts.
- Associates are going to court on a regular basis, writing briefs, and talking directly with clients.
- They are three days/week in the office, and pretty flexible.
- The firm has a 1650 billables requirement to be in good standing.
- It is not an up-or-out structure like in big law firms.
- Base salary is expected to be in the $210k - $250k range but it all depends on seniority and experience. There will be a year-end bonus as well and the firm also offers 15% origination credit even for associates who bring in clients. That's 15% of all collections—on your billings and everyone else's billings for that client.
Candidates must:
- Have 3-7 years’ law firm experience with a real estate litigation or commercial litigation focus (with some real estate exposure),
- Have a U.S. JD, U.S. work authorization and the NY bar, and
- Be an excellent writer, someone who can write a top-notch first draft of a brief
- Be passionate about being a trial lawyer, be looking to take on responsibility, and eager to work hard as part of a team.
Salary : $210,000 - $250,000
