Reports to: Business Development Specialist
Status: Part-Time
Salary: $20-$25hr
Schedule: up to 25 hrs, evenings and weekends as needed
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Business Development Specialist, the Business Hub Coordinator will focus on supporting Latino entrepreneurs in their journey toward success. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in serving small businesses, specifically Latino-owned enterprises. This role demands a committed professional who is deeply connected with people, excels in problem-solving, and consistently delivers high-quality work to enhance the entrepreneurial landscape.
In this multifaceted position, the candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to Latino entrepreneurs, assisting them in navigating the challenges of business development. They will work collaboratively with the Business Development Lead to ensure smooth administrative operations, effectively manage our social media presence, and maintain the website to ensure it serves as a valuable resource for our community. This will involve creating engaging content, updating resources, and fostering online engagement to promote our programs and initiatives. They will have a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Latino entrepreneurs and be committed to providing culturally competent support that empowers business owners and fosters inclusive economic growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Engage directly with Latino entrepreneurs to understand their unique challenges and opportunities.
- Provide practical, personalized coaching to entrepreneurs, offering tailored advice on business operations, financial planning, and marketing strategies that align with their specific goals and cultural context.
- Track the progress of entrepreneurs, providing continuous feedback and adjusting strategies as needed to foster sustainable growth.
- Design and implement comprehensive workshops on business topics like financial management and marketing, ensuring sessions are engaging and interactive to encourage participation and practical skill application.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and assessments, continuously refining content to improve outcomes.
- Enhance the operational efficiency of the Small Business Hub by managing administrative tasks like scheduling and data management, while collaborating with team members to plan and execute events that foster small business growth and community involvement.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure seamless communication and workflow within the hub.
- Maintain organized records of interactions with entrepreneurs, workshops, and events to facilitate reporting and program evaluation.
- Actively oversee and enhance the Small Business Hub’s presence on social media platforms and the website to engage and inform the community.
- Create visually appealing and informative posts using CANVA, ensuring content aligns with the hub's mission and goals.
- Monitor and engage with the online community to support small business growth, responding to inquiries and regularly updating website content with current resources, event information, and success stories of local entrepreneurs.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, speaker arrangements, and promotional activities, to ensure successful event execution.
- Foster partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to expand the reach and impact of events.
Qualification
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or Business Certificate) preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English with strong communication skills.
- Experience with small businesses, especially Latino-owned ones.
- Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Proficient in social media management, website maintenance, and digital marketing. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
