What are the responsibilities and job description for the Next Generation Lideres Pre-Law Mentee position at LatinoJustice PRLDEF?
NGL is part of the Cesar A. Perales (CAP) Leadership Institute that works to increase the legal profession pipeline for first-generation college students, students from immigrant households and those from underrepresented communities.
An NGL Pre Law Mentee can be a high school junior or senior, current college student or recent college graduate that has not applied to law school.
Eligible mentees must be willing to:
- Interact with an attorney mentor matched to them on at least a monthly basis.
- Participate in meetings which may be virtual, by phone/text or in person.
- Once accepted, mentees must also attend group events and programs designed to inform and enhance your journey to law school.
Applicants must complete the preliminary application form here. Please note, this is a two-step application process, in which you will be asked to submit a statement of interest (cover letter) and recommendation letter. If selected to advance to the second phase, candidate must upload a mandatory parental consent form (if under age 18) as part of the questionnaire to help pair you with your mentor.
