Compensation Details
Rate: Trip rates vary from $319.12- $353.89 per trip.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Class A Driver for the Over-The-Road Driver position! The OTR will deliver finished goods to customers and pick up materials as needed. They will be required to follow all company and DOT compliance regulations, while ensuring all freight is delivered safely following no driver touch requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Class A CDL Commercial license.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations.
- A verifiable driving record with the ability to fill out basic DOT documentation (logbooks, mileage reports, pre and post-trip books).
- A minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer OTR experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Comfortable with long-haul transport.
- Self-starter who works well independently.
- High level of composure and good stress management.
- Expert in maintaining good client relations and providing customer satisfaction.
- Refrigerated, food/dairy experience a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Experience driving in nighttime conditions; Trips will begin after midnight.
Responsibilities
- Ability to operate/use new OBC technology for driver HOS compliance.
- Perform quality pre-trip and post-trip inspections of both tractor and trailer.
- Ensure all required records pertaining to deliveries, driver logs, and truck maintenance are accurate, current, and in accordance with company procedures and DOT regulations.
- Gather required documents (i.e., bill of lading, transfers, etc.), obtain required signatures, and ensure all documents are returned complete and accurate.
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of truck and trailer by performing all functions in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
- Able to operate and understand refrigerated trailer programs and settings.
- Able to drive safely during evening and early morning hours.
- Frequently enter and exit the trailer cab, as well as sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
- Always make safety a priority.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing walking, bending, twisting, lifting, climbing stairs.
- Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary in position.
