Position Title: Host / Hostess

Purpose & Major Responsibility:
The Host / Hostess is a key figure and brand ambassador for Latitude Seafood Co. She/He is at the forefront of our Service Team and is usually the first one to greet our guests and to say goodby. The main goal is to make the customer feel welcomed, escort them to their table, and make them want to come back! This person is often new to the hospitality business and this role is a good place to start at Latitude Seafood Co. You would be exposed to more areas of skill than in a typical host/hostess role due to the cyclical nature of our business we keep you busy in different areas.

Main Duties & Activities:

• Greeting, Seating, reservations, and controlling the waitlist for guests
• Liaising with Manager for Nightly Reservations & Seating Plan
• Allocate guests into sections of restaurant so all servers have tables
• Offer knowledge of menu and specials
• Maintaining restaurant atmosphere (Clean, organized, warm, inviting)
• Clean and stock washrooms according to standards
• Setting and Clearing Restaurant tables
• Stocking and Organizing side stations and restrooms, rolling silverware, light cleaning
• Function Set-up and Break Down
• Helping to maintain lobby area and ensure it is clean at all times
• When not seating guests you help clear tables
• You will answer the phone warmly and take reservations to store policy
• You are sometimes subjected to rude customers who are demanding and you must be able to handle this professionally and with a smile.
• You must always be attentive to the front door, be aware of who is coming and going. All guests should be properly greeted and given menus and silverware and be thanks for coming in on their way out.
