As a successful kitchen manager, you must be able to fit all pieces of the kitchen together. You must lead by example and maintain a positive atmosphere while driving home critical results. Being a fully functioning expert of all kitchen positions, you will create a team that thrives together and has each other’s back. A Latitude leader is extremely hands-on and ensures high quality results.
Specific responsibilities of Kitchen manager will include:
Maintaining a fully staffed restaurant with a high-quality team that holds each other accountable. Motivate your people to achieve results and developing key players into higher roles.
You must exhibit strong business acumen in finance to include managing the Prime cost through scheduling, inventory management and ordering.
Ensuring that our food is always of the highest quality. You will make sure recipes are being adhered to and that your team is passionate about how it is plated.
You will promote a sense of urgency among your team and have a focus on ticket times and BOH labor.
P&L responsibility: You will play a major role in keeping our prime cost below the General Manager’s goal budget goal. You will need to be and expert at planning out your prep sheets and your orders.
You will ensure a safe and sanitary work environment. You will conduct cleanliness audits regularly to make sure your team is keeping the kitchen up to standard.
You will be a role model to the staff and strive to lead with integrity and instill a sense of ownership within your staff.
You will focus on the details that make your restaurant thrive!
Kitchen Managers do a lot and it's vital that you combine positivity with professional dedication. You will build your team so that each position is functioning at a high level. You will provide “constant, gentle pressure” to your team, to ensure they are always being gently pushed towards excellence without feeling like they are being talked down to. You will be a mentor and the coach.
Specific qualifications include:
Minimum 2 years of Kitchen Management experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant - REQUIRED
Hands-on experience in all facets in the BOH
Ability to work the line and push quality and ticket times is a MUST.
Availability to work a flexible schedule to include a weekend and some holidays
Minimum 21 years of age with legal authorization to work in the United States
