Position Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Credentialing Specialist to join our team as an independent contractor (1099). The ideal candidate will have experience in provider insurance credentialing and be familiar with the processes of enrolling providers with payers, maintaining provider files, and handling re-credentialing. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare providers meet all payer and regulatory requirements, helping them secure necessary approvals to operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit credentialing applications for healthcare providers to insurance payers.
- Maintain and update provider information with health plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Track credentialing statuses and follow up with payers to ensure timely approvals.
- Assist with re-credentialing processes as needed, adhering to deadlines and compliance standards.
- Maintain organized records of credentialing documents and communications.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, internal team members, and insurance payers to resolve credentialing issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and payer requirements related to credentialing.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare provider insurance credentialing is required.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payer requirements.
