ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

As National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the sales strategy and overseeing the growth of our premium tobacco products across the U.S. This role involves managing a national sales team, building relationships with customers, and ensuring sales targets are met while actively identifying opportunities for growth. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales management and a deep understanding of the cigar and premium tobacco industry, as well as demonstrated expertise in driving both market expansion and revenue growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute effective sales strategies that align with company goals, with a focus on B2B growth and customer retention. This includes setting sales targets, forecasting, and analyzing market data to drive revenue growth and increase market share for our products.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, support, and mentor sales team members to enhance their skills, improve sales performance, and consistently achieve sales goals.
  • Enhance Training: Create impactful training programs to empower retailers and the sales team, emphasizing value-driven sales approaches and product expertise.
  • Market Expansion: Identify new market opportunities and develop relationships with key distributors, retailers, and other strategic partners.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers to ensure brand loyalty and long-term partnerships.
  • Brand Positioning: Work closely with management and marketing teams to ensure our brands are positioned effectively in the market, and our sales strategy conforms to wider brand goals.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes that may impact the business.
  • Passion for Premium Tobacco: Cultivate a true enthusiasm for pipes, cigars, and the culture that surrounds them, to help build authentic connections with customers and effectively sell the wide range of brands in our catalog.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of five years experience in sales operations and sales management.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel: Success in this position requires effective travel and collaboration with the team. Must be able to travel to visit territory sales representatives, meet with customers, and attend industry events or trade shows. (50%-75%)

Note: While not strictly required for consideration, previous experience in business-to-business cigar sales would be advantageous, as would a deep understanding of the cigar market, industry regulations, and trends.

COMPENSATION:

The total compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary, plus percentage-based commissions on all external sales by Laudisi Distribution Group and bonuses for year-over-year growth.

  • Base Salary: $90,000
  • Commission: $17,000 - $24,000 per year.
  • Growth Bonus*: $0 - $69,000 per year.
  • Growth bonuses are tiered based on the growth percentage of year-over-year external sales. Below are estimates of total annual compensation based on various growth tiers:
  • 0% Growth: $107,000
  • 15% Growth: $135,000
  • 30% Growth: $164,000
