Principal Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team and lead the design, analysis, and maintenance of advanced electrical systems. This position focuses on supporting three-phase DC electric motor systems and large-scale industrial electronic equipment used in manufacturing, power generation, and transmission. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, with a strong foundation in simulation, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and optimize circuitry for three-phase DC electric motor systems.
- Develop, test, install, and maintain complex electronic systems and machinery for large-scale applications.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software) to create schematics, run simulations, and document designs.
- Perform detailed electrical simulations and worst-case performance analyses, accounting for temperature variation, radiation effects, end-of-life degradation, and other operational factors.
- Create and review electrical performance specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Interface with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution and technical alignment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and technical consultant on high-impact projects, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Apply creativity and engineering judgment to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in electrical design and system performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial or high-power systems.
- Expertise in motor drive systems, power electronics, and large-scale electronic equipment design.
- Proficiency with electrical design and simulation software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, Altium, PSpice, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to perform complex electrical simulations and failure analysis.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and collaborate effectively with engineering teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $58.00 - $67.00 per hour
