Certified Hemodialysis Technicians (CHT) are essential personnel in our mission to provide patients with a top-tier dialysis treatment experience. Qualification

- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Ability to operate hemodialysis machines and equipment.

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. CA CHT license is required (Willing to train new graduates).
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring a welcoming, friendly, and helpful work environment rooted in a high standard of patient care.

- Attend and participate in staff meetings/in-services to ensure continuing education and compliance with company policy and procedure.
- Perform the CHT job responsibilities per facility protocol and State and federal regulations.
- Perform hemodialysis treatments on patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Set up and operate hemodialysis machines. Safely initiate dialysis treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during dialysis treatment to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Accurate documentation is required, including vital signs, treatment details, and any observed changes in condition (Report any change in patient condition to the Charge Nurse and Doctor).
- Strict adherence to infection control policies.
- Ability to perform dialysis procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Clean and disinfect dialysis equipment and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this job (the safety of the employee and our patients is paramount).
- Welcome the Patient to the clinic and encourage hand hygiene (infection control).
- Walk the Patient to the scale to obtain their pre-treatment weight (the same goes for the end of treatment).
- Review & assess Patient access site per CMS guidelines.
- Mix acids and bicarbonate according to procedures.
- Complete and document water testing at the beginning of each shift.
- Complete and document (assigned Job responsibilities) facility logs throughout the day.
- Performing monthly Patient education is a requirement for this job (continuous education is vital to our mission for quality care).
- Report machine problems to the Biomedical Technician and Facility Manager.
- Perform duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the facility.
- CHT will obtain blood samples, spin them, and prepare the shipment for lab analysis.
- An Alternative Work Schedule is available if needed. We are willing to allow employees to work between 8 and 12 hours daily.
Job Types: Full-time, PRN
Pay: $23.00 - $25.50 per hour
