We are looking for a skilled and motivated Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. As an Assistant Culinary Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef and Culinary Manager in overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Culinary Manager in planning and organizing daily kitchen operations
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate their tasks to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stock levels
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Culinary Manager to create and update menu items
- Report employee related issues and conflicts to the Executive Chef/Culinary Manager
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper equipment maintenance
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or in a similar role
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
