What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM ASSISTANT FOR SUMMER CAMP position at Laurel Ridge Camp Conference and Retreat Center?
Job Summary :
The Program Assistant will work directly with the Program Manager to provide support and leadership for the Summer Camp Season at Laurel Ridge. Begin as soon as possible meeting via zoom with the Program Manager and planning teams for summer camp. Report to work May 18, 2025 and work until August 2, 2025. Essential Functions :
To work with the Management of Laurel Ridge to provide overall support to Laurel Ridge during the summer Camp season. This includes, but is not limited to :
Be a resource person to help campers and counselors alike have a meaningful camp experience.
Work with Program Manager to provide program support during worship time, activities and daily campfires
Provide program support during camp activities
Be a role model for the entire camp through interaction with campers, volunteers and other staff
Assist in organizing and leading team-building activities for campers
Coordinate and facilitate group discussions on relevant topics for campers
Education / Experience / Attitude :
Required
Willingness to serve others in a fun and challenging environment
Ability to work within a team environment and prioritize the needs of others
Must be at least 1 year out of high school and under 25 years of age
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with campers and staff
Ability to adapt to changing situations and problem-solve effectively
Preferred
Ability to play an instrument during program time
Current Lifeguard certification
Experience in leading outdoor recreational activities such as hiking or canoeing
Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR (Laurel Ridge will provide training and certification)
Experience in facilitating group discussions and team-building exercises
