Position Summary:
Business Office Supervisor oversees and provides leadership to the business office / patient accounts team and ensures all deadlines are met. This position interfaces with third party payers and patients / quarantors as necessary. The Business Office Supervisor monitors billing codes for accuracy, collaborates with Business Office Director to minimize bad debt and increase net revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises all Patient Account Representatives in all facets of handling patients’ accounts
Maintains Net A/R Days at 65 or less
Controls Bad Debt expenses to 3.0% or less of net revenue
Advices CFO and CEO of financial concerns involving patients
Prepare month end accounts receivable reports
Negotiates one-time contracts
Processes contractual allowances
Maintain Midas for Denial Tracking
Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the patient accounts and revenue
Develops and manages operational initiatives with measurable outcomes
Directs the departmental quality improvement efforts to achieve optimal productivity, operational effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction of internal and external customers. External customers include patients, referring providers, physicians and third-party payers

- Strong leadership, organizational, supervisory and administrative skills

Education:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related major required.
Licensure Certification:
N/A
Experience:
- Three years experience supervising in hospital billing, patient accounting, or similar office setting required
- Experience supervising in healthcare revenue cycle field preferred
