Position Summary:
Supervised Play Room Monitors operate primarily in the Supervised Play classrooms, playground and Multi-Purpose Room, Monday-Friday, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. After School at Laurel’s Supervised Play program serves students from 18 months old through Grade 5. After School at Laurel follows the school calendar and does not meet on school half-days and holidays, or the last day of school. Supervised Play Room Monitors work closely with the After School Coordinator to ensure a safe, nurturing, and fun afterschool program.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Monitor students in the Supervised Play program.
- Change diapers and assist in toilet training, as needed.
- Lead group activities, such as crafts and storytime.
- Encourage hygienic practices, such as handwashing, and assist in clean-up.
- Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 3:00-6:00 p.m..; provide advance notice of absence when possible. Ideally, you would be available weekly all 5 afternoons, but we are open to someone who can work regularly 1 or more afternoons a week.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have experience in working with children. Experience working with children ages 18 mos. – 4 years is highly desirable. First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
