Position Summary:
The Summer at Laurel Counselor operates in Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and Butler Campus in Novelty. Summer camp operates Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00 from June 9 - July 25th in one and two week sessions. The Summer at Laurel program is a co-ed program which serves students from 2 years through rising 8th grade. Summer at Laurel Counselors work closely with the instructors to ensure a safe, nurturing, fun and efficient Summer program. *This is a seasonal position that requires at least a two week commitment.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Make connections with campers and develop meaningful relationships
- Show enthusiasm and encourage campers to get involved in all camp activities.
- Set a good example for campers and a role model by demonstrating cleanliness, punctuality, sharing,
assisting in clean-up and other chores, sportsmanship, and citizenship - Consistently enforce policies and procedures
- When transporting campers from one location to another, always ensure all campers are accounted for
before departing and after arrival - Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers
- Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00 p.m. daily
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
