Position Summary:
The Summer at Laurel Instructor operates on Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and Butler Campus in Novelty. Summer camp operates Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00 from June 9 - July 25th in one and two week sessions. The Summer at Laurel program is a co-ed program which serves students from 2 years through rising 8th grade. Summer at Laurel instructors work closely with the Camp Coordinators to ensure a safe, nurturing, fun and efficient Summer program. *This is a seasonal position that requires at least a two week commitment.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Monitor students in the camp group they are assigned to and provide a safe and fun experience for all campers.
- Change diapers and assist in toilet training, as needed.
- When transporting campers from one location to another, always ensure all campers are accounted for
before departing and after arrival - Consistently enforce policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers
- Lead group activities, such as crafts, field trips, special events, and outdoor activities.
- Encourage hygienic practices, such as handwashing, and assist in clean-up.
- Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00 p.m. daily.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have experience in working with children. Candidates currently or previously employed as a teacher are highly desirable. Must be First Aid/CPR certified or willing to get certified.
