LTI offers Certificates, Diplomas, and Associate’s degrees and specializes in allied health, business and applied technology programs. The school is licensed by the state of PA, approved by the Department of Education, and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. Instructors are responsible for teaching students in classroom, hands-on lab settings, and occasionally via online learning platforms. The instructor will exercise sound educational practices and promote the academic development of each student by managing the classroom environment in a way that promotes a positive and engaging learning experience, provides support, tutoring and other assistance as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged classroom experience to students.
- Ensure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s seminar.
- Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained and are in working order prior to class time.
- Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active and engaged classroom experience for all students.
- Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
- Ensure campus compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies’ guidelines, along with internal policies of the company.
- Instructors are to “model" the professional behaviors, language, and activities expected of our students. Provide instruction in the basics of commercial electricity with emphasis on safety, mathematics, NEC 2014 code, electrical motors, controllers, and PLCs.
- Supervise students in hands-on trades tasks
- Provide evaluation of students’ on hands-on activities
- Provide testing of students’ knowledge of theory; maintain student attendance and grade rosters
- Prepare curricula materials
- Qualifications :
- 3 – 5 years related work experience required
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Duties
Successful candidates are required to teach both lecture (theory) and lab (practical applications) classes in the following:
- Theory of Electricity
- DC Circuits Analysis
- Residential Wiring
- Commercial Wiring
- National Electrical Code
- Electrical Troubleshooting
- Solar PV Theory and Installation
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience as an electrician Required
- high school diploma, technical/trade school and/or approved apprenticeship certificate Required
- Associate Degree Preferred
- have current industry certifications
- Electrical License Required
- other industry certification
- be able to demonstrate competencies in
- installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical wiring, equipment and lighting systems
- troubleshooting electrical problems
- following National Electric Code
- performing a variety of commercial electrical installation, repair, upgrade, retrofit, analysis, specialty installation and maintenance operations
