Job Summary:
Laval Underground Surveys is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing and Planning Specialist to manage our procurement activities and production planning. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing quality materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with the production team to develop and update production schedules based on demand forecasts and customer orders.
- Inbound Inventory Receiving, inspection, and processing.
- Pricing Approval and Vendor Invoice Reconciliation
- Vendor liaison for resolving issues related to quality or conformity.
- Analyze and report on key metrics related to purchasing, inventory, and production planning.
- Resolve any issues related to supplier performance, quality, or delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction and process optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in supply chain management, procurement, or production planning.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production planning.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
