About The Role
As a Lead Seismic Engineer, you will lead civil / structural activities which include seismic analysis and design using analytical tools, justify design changes, and troubleshoot new issues. You will address technical issues for evaluation of soil-structure-interaction effects and characterization of dynamic soil properties.
You will report to the Manager of Concrete / Rebar Design and Seismic Analysis. You will work hybrid based in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation provided. We can consider candidates able to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities
- Seismic Analysis and Design Proof of Concept (POC) for all projects, working with BUs and Project Teams
- Lead development of work scopes and estimates for all seismic and FEA work like seismic analysis and design, fragility, soil structure interaction, and generic FEA working with the different BEPD sub-disciplines, facilitating discussions with the Project Engineering team to understand scope and address questions
- Address technical issues related to seismic analysis of building structures and fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of a civil/structural projects like technical justification of design changes and sometimes troubleshooting emergent technical issues
- Technical expert on the actual work and lead the technical team in the execution phases
- Work with technical experts on any civil/structural needs
- Participate in project-related activities as related to BEPD, for instance, PRMs, schedule activities, and progress status meetings
- Mentor engineers developing skills in seismic and FEA
- Curate and track tools and methods related to seismic design and analysis and FEA (e.g ANSYS, LS-DYNA, SASSI)
- 12 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering -or- Structural Engineering
- Nice-to have but absolutely not required:
- PE, FE/EIT
- Nuclear industry
- Seismic analysis and soil-structure-interaction analysis experience
