What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Associate position at Law Bulletin Media?
Beginning with the iconic Chicago Daily Law Bulletin® in 1854, we have steadily grown our business-critical and award-winning content. Law Bulletin Media is a diversified information company serving the legal, real estate and financial markets.
We are looking for a Collections Assoicate, working under the close direction of the Collection Manager, to initiate calls with delinquent customers by phone and email to collect payments and settle accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Efficiently manage and monitor accounts receivable balances for all product lines
- Work with customers to find solutions for outstanding balances and facilitate arrangements for bringing accounts up to date
- Update and maintain detailed file records of customer communication and closure of collection efforts
- Maintain effective communication with customers via email and phone
- Process refunds with proper approvals and generate monthly statements
- Assist accounts receivable team in distributing invoices, charging credit card payments and depositing checks
- Collaborate with other departments to solve collection issues
- Proactively seek solutions to problems and find opportunities for improvements
- Work closely with assistant controller and accounts receivable team
- Additional duties and projects as assigned to meet business needs
Position Qualifications:
- Some College is preferred
- 2 – 5 year of general work experience.
