What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Law Firm Carolinas?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our law firm’s accounting team. This role is essential in supporting the firm’s billing, collections, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable, billing processes, and trust accounting (preferred). The successful candidate will also assist in client communications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Pre-Billing Process: Assist with the pre-billing process to ensure accuracy and completeness before generating invoices.
- Collection Efforts: Assist with the firm's collection efforts by calling clients regarding overdue invoices, pulling open invoices, and identifying issues to resolve outstanding balances.
- Accounts Receivable: Post payments to client accounts, ensuring that payments are promptly and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Credit Card Processing: Process credit card transactions in accordance with firm policies, ensuring all payments are applied promptly and correctly to client accounts.
- Trust Accounting: Knowledge of trust accounting processes, including proper management of client trust funds and reconciliation of trust accounts, is beneficial but not required.
- Administrative Support: Provide additional administrative support to the accounting team as needed, including preparing and posting journal entries and handling other ad-hoc tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in accounting software with strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and financial record-keeping.
- Familiarity with trust accounting principles is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- A professional, customer-service-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.
This is a full-time, in office position with a comprehensive benefits package after 90 days.
