What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position at Law Office of JMH?
The firm is a growing removal defense practice, and engages family and criminal courts to the extent necessary for immigration relief. Fluency in Spanish is required. Prior experience as an immigration paralegal and experience with immigration forms and filings is welcome, but not required.
The candidate should be comfortable regularly communicating telephonically with courts, government agencies, and other firms in both Spanish an English. The candidate will interact frequently with clients, and with the firm's attorneys related to caseload management.
The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, and strong writing ability is welcome. Primary responsibilities include: Filing Mail, Logging Mail into Software, Answering telephones, attending clients' needs, and responding to e-mails for the firm's multiple attorneys. Ability to translate documents from English to Spanish perfectly. Also, ability to interpret verbally from Spanish to English.
The ideal candidate should:- Have attention to detail; accuracy is essential; - Must be able to work independently and productively and manage multiple priorities;- Ability to work under strict deadlines and closely monitor due dates; - Possess effective interpersonal skills working with client and attorney demands. This is a full time position. It is not meant to be a filler or seasonal position. We are prepared to invest great time in training the right person, and we would expect a reasonable commitment of time in return.
