Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice in various areas of law according to client needs.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and litigation.
- Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and other relevant materials.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and applicable regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
- Handle client matters from intake to finish.
- Appear for clients in court.
- Draft pleadings and motions, conduct legal research and writing. Keep all client notes and time entries using Clio software.
- Take direction from Managing Partner and get along well with staff.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and valid license to practice law in North Carolina.
- Strong family law experience.
- Proficient in the rules of civil procedure and rules of evidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have experience in courtroom advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Be organized and outgoing, comfortable in the courtroom, has a genuine desire to help others, is tech savvy (or willing to learn).
- Is in good standing with the North Carolina Bar.
