Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Case Manager/Intake Specialist to handle auto and premises cases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload of Personal Injury cases from intake through the pre-litigation stage. This position has a high level of interaction with clients and claims adjusters. The right candidate will be comfortable working with clients as well as interacting with claims adjusters on a daily basis while providing a high level of customer service. The position will be filled by the candidate who can work independently with little supervision and takes pride in performing at a high level of excellence.

This role reports to: Handling Attorney
Job Type: Full Time, M-F, 9am-5pm
Key Responsibilities
- Personally manage a caseload of 60-70 personal injury (Motor Vehicle and Premises) cases from intake through pre-litigation stage
- Serve as first line of communication for all clients and claims adjusters; providing case and treatment updates
- Respond to all outside inquiries (telephone and email) within 24 hours or 1 business day
- Knowledge and experience with the client intake process (virtual and in person) including obtaining all client documents such as No-Fault/PIP forms, HIPAA, Intake, Power of Attorney, health insurance cards, license, Dec Page, PD Estimate/Invoice, Accident Photos, Injury Photos
- Ability to open claims (liability, PIP, SUM/UM) with insurance companies
- Knowledge of No-Fault/PIP regulations/deadlines, ability to process NF/PIP applications, wage loss claims, property damage claim through NF Insurance
- Knowledge of handling claims against Municipalities including filing deadlines and drafting Notice of Claim
- Responsible for conducting monthly status calls with clients to gather updated treatment information and provide support
- Conduct 30/60/90 day case reviews to provide to Handling Attorney with progress reports and address issues
- Work with investigator to obtain background searches, driving records, criminal records
- Retrieve police reports in all Counties
- Obtain all outstanding liens including medical provider liens, worker's compensation liens, Medicare/Medicaid Liens
- Request medical records and Itemized Biling Reports
- Track and record case expenses
- Open, scan, save and distribute incoming mail and communications from all sources
- Record task creation and completion in a Case Management System
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Prelitigation Paralegal or Prelitigation Case Manager
- This position will be filled by the right candidate that can work independently with very little supervision.
- Candidate must have proven knowledge and experience in all responsibilities
- Has previous experience handling a caseload of approx. 50 case files or more, using a Case Management System, SmartAdvocate or the like
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, but not mandatory
Salary : $50,000 - $75,000
