What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Program Director position at LawCo Sports?
LawCo Sports is in search of a qualified individual to fill our Dance Director Position. The perfect individual for this position loves working with children and has the ability to be in a leadership role in our gym. We are looking for someone passionate about dance, someone who is patient, kind, and enthusiastic with high energy, and can maintain their student’s attention for the duration of the class time. We want this program to grow to be successful, but also work to provide a safe and positive space for the youth in our community. An ideal applicant would have experience in childhood development, including but not limited to coaching dance teams or classes, education, childcare with some business administration experience. Requirements include background in dance technique and choreography, skilled in working with children of all ages, but mainly ages 3-16 years old, experience in operating basic computer softwares such as microsoft and our class registration software, ability to order costumes and supplies while staying within a given budget, and comfortable communicating with customers, parents, and children.
Responsibilities for the position include managing all dance classes held at LawCo Sports while also leading and teaching students, communicating with parents regarding important information pertaining to the program, choreographing each routine, ordering supplies, costumes, shoes, and any necessary materials to make each routine successful, and finally establishing relationships with each child in a caring, nurturing, and encouraging way.
The required studio hours will vary, depending on the interest level, and remote work will be offered to meet the 36 hours a week requirement. We are prepared to pay someone well to grow this program and put their heart into dance in Lawrence County.
