Essential Functions
Business Development (70% Focus in Year 1)
Strategic Planning & Capture
- Develop and execute a robust business development strategy focused on 8(a) sole-source and competitive opportunities.
- Build a pipeline targeting $50M in opportunities across:
- Defense and Civilian Human Capital Solutions
- Intelligence Community and Special Operations Programs
- Leverage military personnel readiness and resource management insights to identify and qualify strategic opportunities.
- Establish relationships with senior leaders across federal agencies, including DoD, USAFE, AFSOC, SOCOM, and JSOC.
- Collaborate with industry partners, sister organizations, and stakeholders to expand networks and maximize market reach.
- Participate in the development of RFP/RFI responses, highlighting organizational strengths and aligning with federal requirements.
- Partner with technical and operational teams to create high-value, compliant proposals.
- Drive engagement and strategic partnerships with key agencies, including:
- Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R))
- Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA)
- Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC)
- SOCOM Intelligence Battalion
- Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
- National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
- Represent Lawelawe Defense at high-profile industry events, forums, and networking engagements.
- Refine the company’s value proposition, aligning with expertise in readiness, force development, and operational success.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee execution of awarded contracts, ensuring on-time delivery and exemplary client satisfaction.
- Implement best practices from Air Force mission support roles to strengthen operational frameworks.
- Collaborate with HR to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing personnel with expertise in IT, intelligence, and human capital solutions.
- Optimize resource allocation to ensure maximum contract performance and cost efficiency.
- Design and implement operational policies that streamline workflows, improve compliance, and enhance productivity.
- Use KPI dashboards to monitor and enhance contract performance metrics.

Competencies
- Prove expertise in personnel and operational management, readiness, and workforce development
- Strong relationships with federal agencies and stakeholders, including DoD and intelligence community leaders
- Basic understanding of the capture process
- Experience with U.S. Federal Sector Business Development is preferred
- Familiarity with necessary defense contracting tools, including but not limited to: GovWin IQ, Bloomberg, BETA SAM.GOV, FPDS, and similar experience is a plus
- Knowledge of government solicitation documents, including standard RFP structure.
- Exceptional skills in team building, resource optimization, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent problem solving, organization and time management skills
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to organize and present ideas clearly and logically.
- Ability to manage and prioritize time between regular duties, ad hoc requests, and higher-level corporate priorities/initiatives
- Business Travel for conferences and customer meetings, as needed up to 15% is expected.

- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other complimentary discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience with MS Office suite and ability to create, format, and manipulate Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and develop PowerPoint presentations and SharePoint
