Core Responsibilities
- Acquire aspirational employers (or new business groups from existing relationships) for UTSA’s recruiting ecosystem.
- Build an employer portfolio focusing on companies seeking to hire UTSA talent, support Employer Engagement with employer visits/major recruiting events, and coordinate visits with high potential employer partners.
- Understand hiring trends and talent profile preferences for each employer in the portfolio.
- Build relationships with hiring managers in your portfolio to provide year-round job postings for all undergraduate and graduate programs, especially in the spring (graduating students).
- Pitch recruiting programming, Najim projects and other CEL programs, centers programming, and sponsorship opportunities when appropriate.
- Serve as a strong cross-functional to all groups within CEL, looping in Employer Engagement, Career Development, College Success Centers and/or CFR as appropriate and strategically handing off accounts.
- Update pitch deck as needed, and provide content and strategic insight to CEL leadership on how to market UTSA talent to employers.
- Evaluating and updating UCC corporate sponsorship packages with leadership. Co-creating custom packages as needed and working with the appropriate CEL team members on coordinating/executing custom programs.
- Data entry in CRM database supporting Employer Engagement; pull relevant engagement reports in CRM
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attend evening or weekend employer events.
- Travel for occasional conferences, or in-person key employer visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.
- Four (4) years of business development and/or employer relationship experience.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient Data analysis skills in Excel.
- Powerpoint skills.
- Excellent teamwork/collaboration skills.
- Ability to take initiative on projects.
- Familiarity with leveraging new technology and software.
- Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.
- Five to seven (5-7) years of business development and/or employer relationship experience.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Experience presenting to large groups (100 ).
- Experience with pivot tables in Excel.
- Experience presenting high-level strategy to executive leadership.
- Ability to connect with all levels within an organization: undergrad and grad students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers (admin to C-level).
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with Handshake, Saleforce, other CRM.
