THE ROLE 

The Director of Field Sales & Education for the East, is based in New York or Florida and will report to the Assistant Vice President of Field Sales & Education. The purpose of the role is to drive LAWLESS sales objectives, both quantitative (revenue, volume, productivity) and qualitative (in store presence, retail relationships, training and development). This leader will balance between being a nimble and gritty entrepreneur and being a strategic leader, with the ability to grow the business 5x over the next 3-4 years.  This role must show up with energy, positivity and be deeply collaborative, looking at what's needed for the future, while driving immediate business needs. 

 

THE SCOPE 

The Director of Sales & Education will oversee 3 key areas for the brand: 

 

  1. ACHIEVE SALES GOALS VIA STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING & SELL THRU OBJECTIVES 
  • Execute and accelerate the strategy to deliver the sell through targets   
  • Measure and track KPIs for success across the organization. Help determine the levers to improve the business. 
  • Effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans. 
  • Focus on quality and understanding of consumer behaviors. 
  • Negotiate and build Sephora store relationships at all levels  
  • Create a culture of success and goal achievement and implement strategies which support the needs of the sales teams, operations and required resources to deliver profitable growth. 
  1. UNLOCK RETAIL OPPORTUNITIES VIA IN STORE PRESENCE, EDUCATION & EVENTS  
  • Manage, develop and oversee all In Store and field employee relationships. From Regional, local market & store levels  
  • Own, cultivate, deliver, and execute Sales Call Cycle for all points of sale in the Region 
  • Deepen relationships with key retail partners by adding value through thought leadership and strategic partnerships. 
  • Ability to travel consistently to identify key focus growth markets, monthly, quarterly, and as the business needs.  
  • Collaborate with Marketing on merchandising and product strategies to increase account retention and accelerate growth. 
  • Issue clear direction and guidelines with regards to priorities - both qualitative and quantitative.  

  

  1. ACCELERATE IN-STORE PRODUCTIVITY VIA RELATIONSHIPS, PARTNERSHIPS & ACCOUNTABILITY  
  • Partner closely with the outsourced Field Sales Team & freelancer’s (Independent Contractors) overseeing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop sales programs across the West Coast 
  • Set store goals and product goals, to ensure productivity targets are met on a consistent basis. 
  • Conduct regular field team calls with field teams to review education, events, schedules, budgets, sales, reports, and plan of action. 
  • Look for and use relevant insights to recommend adjustments to targets, product messaging, marketing and in-store merchandising.  
  • Motivate team through regular team communications/meetings  
  • Set strategy and hiring vision for both in-house & third-party talent.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Experience from roles such as Sales & Training Executives, Account Executive, DM, or similar roles in the CPG industry, including hands-on responsibilities. 
  • Must be able to travel up too, but not limited to 50% 
  • Proven track record in open sell & DS, productivity. 
  • Strengths in merchandising, sales, forecasting and driving retailer relationships. 
  • Provides creative solutions generating business value, promotes team creativity and utilizes data to draw new insights. 
  • Driven and impactful leader with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 
  • Takes initiative to solve problems and results oriented with focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Effective planning, organizational and time management skills 
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills and Google Suite. 
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Able to stand for up to 8 hours. 
  • Holds a valid driver's license. 
  • Will be required to travel to all markets by ground (*by air, when needed).
