Who we are looking for

LCDC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our property management team. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and adept at managing administrative tasks with efficiency and accuracy. This individual will play a key role in ensuring seamless communication with residents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting property managers and Director of Multifamily housing in all aspects of housing operations.


We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. A commitment to providing high-quality service to residents, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are essential.


Primary Duties:

  • Manage the housing waitlist and maintain the pre-application waitlist.
  •  Support property managers by contacting pre-applicants and assisting with the leasing process.
  • Respond to all resident inquiries and requests, escalating matters to the Property Manager as needed.
  • Oversee the input, tracking, and completion of work orders in collaboration with property managers and the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • File, scan, and maintain tenant records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and assist with updating resident files, ensuring all documentation is current.
  • Manage calls and resident communications using the provided tablet system.
  • Assist potential residents with completing applications, verifying all required documents in a timely manner.
  • Support the completion of all required reporting and compliance documentation.
  • Input rents, charges, and other relevant financial data into AppFolio.
  • Support property managers in scheduling and conducting unit inspections.
  • Collect and process rent payments, ensuring accurate records.
  • Assist property managers and the Director of Property Management with various assignments as needed.
  • Conduct all administrative functions necessary to support the property management office.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of property management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  •  Minimum of 2 years of experience in property management, affordable housing, or a related administrative role.
  • Proficiency in AppFolio or similar property management software preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to providing exceptional service to residents, addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges efficiently.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with HUD regulations, affordable housing requirements, and fair housing laws is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with property managers, maintenance teams, and leadership.

This position is full-time, working Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
