What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Lawrence County YMCA?
The Lawrence County YMCA is currently hiring for Lifeguards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool deck areas.
- Maintain emergency equipment and knowledge of LCYMCA emergency procedures
- Enforce aquatic rules and procedures
- Fill out accident/incident reports as needed
- Close and lock the pool area at night and when no guard is on duty
- Keep accurate attendance records on a daily basis
- Greet members and program participants in a pleasant manner
- Know the Lawrence County YMCA Emergency Plan
- All other tasks as assigned by designate
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development Certification (G.E.D.) preferred or a student at least 16 years of age.
- Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification
- Ability to interact with children and public
- Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check, and NSOR clearances.
- Current First Aid & CPR certifications.
