2025-2026 School Year Title 1 Reading Teacher

The Title I Reading Teacher will be responsible for improving the Reading skills of underperforming students in grades 1-2 and supporting the goal of high Reading achievement for all students. Responsibilities: -Analyze standardized test data to identify student needs in Reading. -Based on identified needs, plan Reading/ELA lessons that address identified student needs and support classroom instruction. -Provide small-group instruction using lessons that address identified student needs and support classroom instruction. -May be asked to assist /co-teach Reading with classroom and/or other teachers. -Assist Head of School with inventory, scheduling, and distribution of Reading testing. -Meet with classroom and/or Reading teachers to plan for and discuss students. -Attend Response to Intervention meetings for relevant grade levels. Experience/Qualifications: -Master’s Degree in Reading or like area preferred -Reading certification required, SEI endorsed or become SEI endorsed by the end of the first year -3 years’ experience preferred -Strong commitment to education reform initiatives, particularly raising educational equity for low-income and linguistic minority students -Proven ability to communicate well with adults and children -Demonstrated ability to work as a positive team member -Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred -Commitment to the specific mission and goals of LFDCS -Experience developing programs to serve the needs of students with underperforming Reading skills -Experience developing programs for urban students of Hispanic backgrounds preferred Schedule: Full-Time, School-Year Position Reports to:  Head of School Lawrence Family Development Charter School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Salary : $66,000 - $95,000
