What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist (PRN) position at Lawrence Healthcare?
Job Objective/Summary: The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses medications according to order of practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Supervises and checks work of supportive personnel. Must be knowledgeable of standard pharmaceutical techniques and procedures, laws governing the practice of pharmacy, drug incompatibilities and interactions, pharmacology, and toxicology. The Pharmacist will review medication orders, clinical consultation, staff education, patient counseling, continuous quality improvement initiatives, pharmacist-managed dosing programs and pharmacy related research. The Pharmacist may serve on various hospital committees.
Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy with at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy (BSPH). Hospital pharmacy residency and/or previous experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred. Must be currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Arkansas, such licensure granted by the State Board of Pharmacy after passing the required examinations or by reciprocity based in passing such examinations in another state.
