Position Summary
The Director of Recruitment & Human Capital Development leads the strategic design and implementation of district-wide efforts to recruit, hire, and retain a highly qualified and diverse educator workforce reflective of the racial, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds of LPS students. This role manages innovative recruitment strategies, community and university partnerships, onboarding and licensure support, and programs that promote teacher development and long-term retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a district-wide recruitment and retention strategy aligned with LPS diversity goals.
- Utilize online platforms (LinkedIn, SchoolSpring, university job boards, etc.) and social media to attract diverse candidates.
- Build and maintain pipelines by proactively engaging individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.
- Review applications to identify candidates with licensure in hard-to-fill areas, bilingual skills, or diverse experiences.
- Partner with Human Resources to streamline hiring, onboarding, and licensure processes.
- Lead “Grow Our Own” initiatives, overseeing program development, data tracking, and budget management.
- Plan and manage recruitment events and job fairs with local and statewide partners.
- Cultivate relationships with colleges, universities, and community organizations to support candidate pipelines.
- Supervise New Teacher Development Specialists supporting licensure pathways for emergency-licensed educators.
- Develop marketing materials (brochures, videos, website content) to promote the district and enhance branding.
- Analyze recruitment and retention data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure recruitment practices are equity-focused and aligned with DEIB principles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of DEIB.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with educator licensure requirements (MA DESE) and preparation programs preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and public relations skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and recruitment/marketing platforms.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP) and applicant tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and events with strong organizational skills.
- Skilled in data analysis, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience
- At least 2 years in HR, recruitment, or marketing preferred
- Experience in education settings preferred
- Proven success with talent acquisition strategies
- Other: Occasional travel to recruitment events and meetings required.
