ESY Paraeducators: Plan day on June 5th
- Early Childhood Special Education Paraeducators - Experience working with preschool-age children needed to provide direct instruction/experience under the supervision of a certified teacher. Paraeducator will also assist in the preparation of materials. Associate degree, 48 hours of post-secondary education, or successful completion of paraeducator proficiency exam may be required. Hours are approximately 3.25 hours per day; Monday thru Thursday. (7:45 –11:00)
- Paraeducator - Autism – (Elementary, Middle School & Secondary): Associate degree, 48 hours of post-secondary education, or successful completion of paraeducator proficiency exam may be required. Assist students in general education and/or ESY classroom, as well as in the community. This position may require specialized data collection and monitoring of instructional and behavioral programs. Specialized training provided by the school district may be required. Hours: up to 4.25 hours per day; Monday thru Thursday. (approx. 7:45 – noon)
- Paraeducator - Functional & Adaptive Special Education - (Elementary, Middle School, Secondary & Transition): Associate degree, 48 hours of post-secondary education, or successful completion of paraeducator proficiency exam may be required. Assist students in ESY classrooms, as well as in the community. These paraeducators concentrate on assisting students with daily living, academic and/or behavioral skills, and help implement instructional programs designed by the teacher. Some lifting and specialized training provided by the school district may be required. Hours: @ 4.25 hours per day; Monday thru Thursday.
- Paraeducator - Emotional Disturbance or Secondary Therapeutic Classroom - Associate degree, 48 hours of post-secondary education, or successful completion of paraeducator proficiency exam may be required. Assist students in ESY classrooms, as well as in the community. These paraeducators concentrate on supporting students with academic, social/emotional, and/or behavioral needs, and help implement instructional programs designed by the teacher. Some lifting and specialized training provided by the school district may be required. Hours: @ 4.25 hours per day; Monday thru Thursday.
- Job Coach - (High School & Transition): Associate degree, 48 hours of post-secondary education, or successful completion of paraeducator proficiency exam may be required. Provide support to students at a job site during the school day. This assistance is primarily in community settings, but may also be in a school. These paraeducator/job coaches may also assist with independent living skills and leisure activities. Specialized training provided by the school district may be required. Opportunity for employment throughout the summer; 5 days a week; up to 5 hours a day.
