Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, blasting and painting surfaces in an industrial setting. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all work meets safety and aesthetic standards. The Industrial Painter will work closely with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking or scraping as needed.
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using various methods including spray guns and brushes.
- Mix paints and other materials according to specifications.
- Operate power tools and equipment safely and effectively in the painting process.
- Maintain and troubleshoot paint and blast equipment for optimal performance and safety.
- Assemble components as required for painting projects.
- Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to quality standards.
Skills
- Proficient in industrial painting techniques with experience in construction painting or auto painting preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency in the painting process.
- Mechanical knowledge for understanding equipment functionality and troubleshooting issues.
- Experience using forklifts for material handling is advantageous.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for specific projects.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Requires frequent walking, standing, kneeling and bending.
- Exposure to industrial environments, including dust, fumes, noise and outdoor elements.
