Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Estimator at Laystrom Hardware in Schaumburg, IL. The Project Estimator will be responsible for tasks such as cost management, construction estimating, project estimation, budgeting, and effective communication to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Print, organize, and maintain project plans and specifications.
- Perform accurate and thorough quantitative take-offs.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely bids to general contractors.
- Participate in project hand-off meetings and provide ongoing support during project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer use.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proactive approach.
- Detail-oriented with good mathematical skills and a solid work ethic.
- Prior experience with EMullion and Bluebeam is a plus
- Prior experience with blueprint reading, specification interpretation, and knowledge of construction industry standards is a plus.
