Communications and Media Associate
Lazard, one of the world’s preeminent financial advisory and asset management firms, is seeking a talented, driven, and ambitious communications and media specialist to join our global communications team as an Associate.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping shape our communications strategy, our social media and assisting in taking Lazard’s digital media presence to the next level.
In this position, you’ll be part of a small but global team driving the communications agenda for one the world’s most respected and innovative financial institutions, working closely with Lazard’s senior leadership around the world, as well as print, digital and broadcast journalists.
You’ll be responsible for the tal media campaigns and website content, both for internal and external audiences.
This role calls for a digital native possessing sophdistribution of press releases, daily monitoring, and reporting for all media coverage of Lazard around the world. You will also contribute to digiisticated social media skills and who is capable of driving Lazard’s digital media presence across LinkedIn, Twitter and Lazard.com.
Experience and knowledge of search engine optimization, writing for an online audience and familiarity with online analytics to measure the effectiveness of Lazard’s online engagement are essential.
You’ll requires creativity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and rigorous attention to detail. You must be highly organized, collaborative, work to and hit tight deadlines, and be familiar with digital communications platforms. The position requires the highest levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, editing, supplementing, and approving Lazard’s daily media coverage summary
- Distribution of press releases for Lazard Corporate, Financial Advisory and Asset Management
- Coordinating our various outreach campaigns, including developing communications plans
- Serving as a liaison with journalists, including handling incoming media requests, arranging interviews with Lazard spokespeople, and sitting in on interviews
- Developing communications around Lazard’s DEI initiatives and our affinity groups for Lazard employees, such as military veterans and minority groups
- In-depth involvement in Lazard’s communications plans to support the firm’s ESG agenda and environmental efforts
- Gathering, editing, and writing copy for internal newsletters, including for the Lazard Alumni Network
- Working with A/V, IT, and events personnel to coordinate internal webcasts and Town Hall events, including managing bookings in the Lazard Studio and prepping speakers
- Maintaining our media and speaker bureau databases
- Supporting our social and digital media efforts
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience working in prior communications, marketing, or media roles
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience working with journalists (print, broadcast and online)
- Expertise in social media across LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social channels
- Experience writing for a variety of audiences as well as for both online and print
- Strong interest in banking and financial services, particularly M&A and restructuring (prior experience in financial services is a plus)
- Ability to multi-task on a small team and contribute to a positive team culture
