Position Summary:
The Cloud/IT Operations Manager leads a cross-functional team responsible for the design, management, and administration of an organization's cloud and IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, strategies, and business goals. This role oversees the implementation, selection, and maintenance of scalable cloud solutions and IT systems, encompassing infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) platforms as well as traditional IT systems, networks, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the evaluation process to select, implement, and maintain optimal cloud and IT solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Overseeing the development of a scalable architecture to support applications, cloud services, network infrastructure, and hardware, ensuring robust security, privacy, and compliance standards are integrated across all systems.
- Managing requirement gathering with stakeholders and vendors to align technology solutions with business needs, supporting both cloud and internal IT operations.
- Administering procedures to diagnose and resolve technical issues across diverse systems, including hardware, software, and networks, while monitoring network performance for LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
- Developing and maintaining detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications for both cloud infrastructure and IT systems, assisting with the planning and execution of the organization's IT roadmap.
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining IT security policies to ensure compliance with ISO standards and CIS Controls (CIS 8), supporting a secure and compliant operational environment.
- Allocating resources and managing the departmental budget to support IT projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in cloud and infrastructure operations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of additional experience & certifications is required.
- Maintains an up-to-date, extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, IT systems, and best practices, ensuring that both cloud infrastructure and internal IT resources operate efficiently and securely.
- Expertise in Azure and Office 365.
- A knowledge of AWS & Google Cloud.
- Strong experience in networking is required.
- General understanding of Generative AI and their practical applications in a client environment, with a focus on driving organizational and customer adoption.
- A proactive approach to staying updated with emerging AI technologies and identifying opportunities to integrate them into everyday practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance productivity in day-to-day project management tasks, including drafting project plans, generating reports, summarizing meeting notes, and preparing presentations.
- Capability to guide team members in leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot tools to improve collaboration and streamline workflows.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $159,000 to $199,300 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $175,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
