LCG, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Associate is an integrated member of the Business Development team and plays a role in supporting and impacting the corporate growth strategy. You conduct research, identify trends and perform market data analysis, providing evidence for customer insight, strategic partner development and competitive landscape bench marking. You will generate and maintain the data we need to develop effective strategies, keep our pipeline healthy and construct compelling/compliant proposals in response to government clients requests for qualifications, quotations and proposals. Have the ability to think and work across multiple platforms (print, social media, etc.) to create materials that communicate our value to prospective clients. You will help align industry research, trends, technology, customers, and budgets with sales strategies and solutions. The ideal candidate is positive, flexible, creative and team oriented individual with clear, and honest communication style, both verbal and written. Have the ability to exchange accurate facts, admit to not knowing something and take initiative to discover additional information. Active problem solver, eager to take initiative, able to meet individual deadlines and work effectively under pressure to meet group deadlines. Collaborate well with a dynamic team, multiple parties outside the company, and be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks. Will report to the Senior Director, Business Development.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research, analyze, track, and manage an opportunity pipeline to prioritize the most promising opportunities. Maintain and contribute to Pipeline and report to management on a weekly basis.Find new opportunities, and conduct due diligence to identify partnership opportunities. Maintain knowledge of the Federal market, potential business partners, competitors and acquisition trends.
- Assist in market analysis, providing input based on data driven info on new technical advancements, customer trends, and industry standards. Provide evidence for developing teaming partners and win strategies.
- Prepare marketing materials and briefings for customer calls.
- Help develop ideas and methods for marketing through various new media formats.
- Attend out of the office occasions to include industry day events and other related business development events as necessary. Represent LCG to potential partners/customers in the federal government arena
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings, trainings, workshops, conferences, and any other staff related activities required in the position
- Share in the responsibility for ensuring LCG's culture reflects collaboration, teamwork, and commitment to the overall success of the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-5 years' experience, ideally working in business development, bids/proposals, capture management, marketing or sales focused on the federal or state government marketplace such as a government contractor.
- Excellent and proven English skills, specifically in communicating, reading, writing and editing for marketing, proposals, presentations, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience working with senior/executive management and success in interfacing with others to build trusting relationships. Strong interpersonal skills including trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information, responsive to receiving feedback/guidance from management while remaining respectful, polite and diplomatic at all times
- Detail-oriented, driven to perform and produce high-quality work,
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
- Self-starter and fast learner who takes initiative and meets strict deadlines
- Ability to follow verbal directions, work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to appropriately prioritize work streams and move quickly among differing tasks
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarly with government contracting industry and an understanding of government acquisition mechanisms, practices, and norms
- Experience with Information Technology Services and knowledge of terminology.
- Ability to read and analyze business information.
- Experience with research tools such as FedConnect, GovWin
- Experience working for a company that does government business or experience working with Civilian, DoD agencies or healthcare organizations.
- Prior experience in a relevant role in government contracting market, proposal development, technical writing or preparing RFP responses highly beneficial.
- Experience working with business development, grant management, marketing or proposal teams preferred; business development/capture management for Federal consulting services
