The Nursery Assistant will support daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the irrigation of plants, ensuring they receive adequate water for optimal growth.
- Participate in greenhouse operations, including planting, transplanting, and maintaining plant health.
- Utilize hand tools for various gardening tasks such as pruning, weeding, and soil preparation.
- Engage in outdoor work, including landscape maintenance and garden upkeep.
- Identify different plant species and monitor their growth conditions.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for moving plants and materials around the nursery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nursery environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all nursery operations run smoothly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous for equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with plant identification is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed throughout the day.
