We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for maintaining a productive environment that fosters plant development and supports customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily nursery operations, including staff supervision and scheduling.
- Oversee irrigation systems to ensure optimal water supply for all plants.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery for planting, pruning, and maintaining plant health.
- Conduct lawn care and landscape maintenance as needed to enhance the nursery’s appearance.
- Maintain greenhouse conditions by monitoring temperature, humidity, and light levels.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks associated with moving plants and materials throughout the nursery.
- Identify various plant species and provide guidance on care requirements to staff and customers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the nursery environment.
- Assist in inventory management of plants, supplies, and equipment.
Experience
- Proven experience in nursery management or a similar role within horticulture or agriculture.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Familiarity with farm operations and landscape maintenance techniques is preferred.
- Ability to identify a wide range of plants and understand their specific care needs.
- Experience using hand tools effectively in a gardening or landscaping context.
