LCMS Foundation
The LCMS Foundation was established in 1958 as a stewardship ministry of the church and dedicated to the belief that the Foundation would, “be a vehicle which can, and under the blessing of God’s will, usher in a completely new era for our church.” Since that awe-filled beginning, thousands of inspired stewards, joyful in their thanks to God, have used the LCMS Foundation to plan and manage gifts that benefit their families, congregations and ministries worldwide. At the same time hundreds of LCMS congregations, as well as dozens of schools, RSOs, our two seminaries and many of the Concordia universities have trusted the LCMS Foundation to be their dedicated investment resource.
Location
- Upper Midwest - With the ability to serve all of Minnesota and the Eastern parts of the Dakotas. Anchoring around the Twin Cities is highly desirable.
- Reports to the Vice President of Counselor Performance and Training or his/her designee of the LCMS Foundation.
Essential Job Functions
- Visiting prospects, both individuals and married couples, to learn about their family and financial situation and desire to be generous. These take place in the home, at church or other locations.
- Helping these individuals create a plan that provides the very best gifts to their family and to ministries that they love. At the same time, assisting in the development of strategies that can also help them to minimize taxes and/or provide income today, according to their desires and needs.
- Working with other professional advisors including accountants, financial planners, attorneys and others in the design and implementation of these charitable estate plans.
- Interacting as needed with ministry partner organizations such as churches, schools, colleges and universities, the seminaries, LCMS auxiliaries and RSOs, etc., who are partners with the Foundation and the Michigan District CEF in this gift planning work.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical work experience.
- Active membership in an LCMS congregation.

- The ability to educate donors and others on financial concepts.
- The ability to develop and nurture relationships with key ministry partners.

- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight.
