Accounting Clerk (Part-Time)
Job Description and Profile
The accounting clerk (AC), part-time, works as a member of LDC Inc.’s Accounting Department and will assist the controller, director of accounting and the accounting supervisor. The AC may interact with and assist in other departments with accounting and administrative duties. The primary focus of this position will be to manage LDC, Inc.’s monthly billings, follow up on accounts receivable collections, and work in progress (WIP) processes. Special projects and other duties may be assigned to assist the department or other departments during any downtime. The AC demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality; an Accounting Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement is required. The AC must always display a professional comportment and with all interactions. The AC must learn and become proficient in LDC Inc.’s accounting system, Ajera. The AC must be hard-working, productive, self-motivated, accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents.
Reports to: Controller, director of accounting
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and update projects in the accounting system.
- Prepare and process billing reviews, invoices, and monthly statements to clients.
- Communicate and assist project managers (PMs) with standard billing processes and procedures.
- Use client billing portals as required to submit billing information.
- Organize and maintain project folders.
- Prepare lien release forms to send to clients as required.
- Send reminders for payments and contact clients as required.
- Assist with client collections and lien filings as needed.
- Assist with distribution of weekly reports to senior management and PMs.
- Assist with accounts payable by entering and filing invoices.
- Assist with credit card reconciliations.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Other accounting, administrative, or special projects as assigned.
Skills and Specifications
- Ability to learn new techniques, prioritize multiple tasks, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in Excel.
- Proficient in Ajera.
- General understanding of accrual accounting and cash basis accounting.
- Excellent math ability.
- Highly organized.

Education, Experience, Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced custom billing environment.
- Experience organizing and billing WIP for numerous projects against budgets.
- Experience using various financial/accounting systems, with Deltek Ajera preferred but not required.
- Experience working in a professional services/consulting environment preferred.
Physical Considerations
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computers, printers, copy machines, telephone, and calculator.
- Ability to perform repetitive, finer hand and arm movements, including filing, reaching, carrying, pushing, lifting, and bending.
- Work activities involve the combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.
