Reporting to the Production Manager, the Fabrication Manager will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in the fabrication of parts. They will keep track of all the production units, quality control, work procedures and targets of the fabricators. The Fabrication Manager will ultimately be responsible for managing the workload to efficiently accomplish published schedules to meet customer due dates.
- Interviews and trains new fabrication staff.
- Communicate job expectations and performance requirements to team members.
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, and quality systems, policies, and procedures.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle or assist with discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

- Manage, lead, and develop staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Coordinates with engineering, quality control, supervisory personnel, and maintenance to identify and resolve scheduling, production, and quality problems.
- Utilize ERP software to plan production priorities to manage WIP (Work in Process) and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Create and comprehend various SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), certify operators, and audit the process.
- Facilitate the ongoing continuous improvement process using techniques such as 5’S, TPM, Kanban etc.
- Identify needs relating to improvements in safety/ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these issues.
- Ensure safety of the Fabrication Department by conducting safety audits, improved communication, and training.
- Work with others in the attainment of departmental and organizational goals.
- Identify, confront, and resolve conflict in an effective manner by working with people in all levels of the Organization.
- Inspects work and coordinates with Production Manager to maintain schedules, specified standards, and quality.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading with the ability to train and qualify welders.
- Trains new employees and evaluates work performance.
- Ability to see the big picture and how an area affects the rest of the Organization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- 3-5 years supervision experience in a production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI, & Excel.
Travel:
- This position requires the ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
