Description
At LeJeune Steel Company, we're seeking a qualified and resourceful 3D Detailing Intern to assist our internal and external Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Detailing Teams with steel detailing and organizational tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with a strong interest in 3D modeling, detailing, and producing shop and erection drawings for our fabrication facilities and field subcontractors. You will be involved in a structured training plan to use Tekla Structures (our software), our standards and procedures, as well as interact with our Engineering, Pre-Con, Procurement, Shop Operations, and Project Management staff.
Responsibilities/Tasks of role:
- Design Drawing and Specification Review
- Building the initial 3D model and developing it to include all information required for fabrication (connections, coatings, etc.)
- Creating steel shop & erection drawings
- Creating and disseminating both digital and PDF files for use in procurement, coordination, fabrication, and erection
- RFI writing and tracking
- Managing and tracking drawing schedules for approval and fabrication
- Tracking changes and managing added or revised members
- Coordinating with other trades (precast, curtain wall, etc.)
- Coordinating with other internal departments (Project Management, Pre-Con, Engineering, Shop Operations, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled full-time in an Architecture/Engineering/Construction program
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, particularly when handling multiple tasks in complex situations
- Ability to follow established standards and procedures
- Team-oriented approach with a positive attitude
- Passion for learning
- Meet department/project deadlines through organized time management skills
- Ability to pass a background and drug screen
Benefits and Compensation:
This role is based out of our Minneapolis office. The base pay range is $18-$22 an hour depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
